CBT & EMDR Therapy for Mums & Women

A gentle space to hold you while you’re healing.

As a therapist specialising in maternal mental health, I'm here to support you wherever you are on your journey. Whether you're experiencing anxiety during pregnancy, processing birth trauma, dealing with postnatal depression, struggling with mum guilt, mum rage, or adjusting to your new identity as a mother — I'm here. I support women experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and trauma outside of motherhood, because your struggles matter at every stage of life.

I also offer specialist support for food allergy anxiety - for adults and parents of children living with food allergies.

I work with women online across the UK and internationally, and offer in-person sessions in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

What we can work on together

Every woman's experience is different. Here are some of the things women and mums come to me with:

  • Anxiety during pregnancy and after having a baby

  • Postnatal depression and feeling overwhelmed by motherhood

  • Birth trauma

  • OCD and intrusive thoughts

  • Mum guilt and mum rage

  • Loss of identity in motherhood and matrescence

  • Relationship difficulties and loneliness after having a baby

  • Feeling not good enough, low self-esteem and self-worth

  • Perfectionism and people pleasing

  • Burnout and struggling with work/life balance

Whether you're a new mum struggling with postnatal anxiety, a woman navigating burnout, or someone who has never felt quite good enough — you're in the right place.

Why Specialist Therapy For Women Matters

Women's experiences are unique and so are the pressures we carry. From the expectations placed on us as daughters, partners and mothers, to the invisible mental load of holding everything together - women often put themselves last, and it comes at a cost.

As a woman, a mum and a Trinidadian woman of Chinese, Indian and African heritage, I understand that representation in the therapy room matters. And honestly, that's why I created a space where you don't have to explain yourself, justify your feelings or shrink to fit - whether you're navigating motherhood, identity, cultural expectations or simply trying to find yourself again.

I work with all women, embracing our diverse experiences and backgrounds. I'm particularly passionate about supporting Black, Asian and Caribbean women, because I know how rare it is to find a therapist who truly gets it.

What To Expect In Sessions

First things first - you do not have to tell the whole story on day one. We'll take it at a pace that works for you and I'll tailor treatment to you using CBT & EMDR therapy tools. Because we're not just here for the "here and now" problems - I want you to be able to navigate future tricky situations with confidence.

Using CBT & EMDR we'll work together to:

  • Understand the patterns keeping you stuck

  • Develop practical tools for everyday life

  • Process difficult experiences holding you back

  • Build self-compassion and confidence

We'll start with weekly sessions, and then there'll come a time when you start asking for fortnightly - to give yourself more time to practise. It's one of my favourite parts of your therapy journey, and one I'm truly honoured to witness.

Most people are surprised that progress is more subtle than they expected and I'll make sure we celebrate the little wins along the way. Healing is not linear. There will be harder weeks, and weeks where things feel lighter - and I'll be right here alongside you.

Starting is the hardest part of your journey. Everything else builds from there.

Motherhood brings significant changes to our identity and can feel overwhelming. Let's work together to navigate these challenges and help you thrive. You deserve support that truly sees you.
